Pastor Jones Cancel Plan To Burning Koran
Pastor Terry Jones dropped its plan to set fire to hundreds of the Koran. He explained this is done because the leadership failed Muslim organizations have agreed to move the location of the mosque, near Ground Zero in New York.
"The Americans do not want a mosque there, and of course Muslims do not want us to burn the Koran to them," Jones said as written AFP on Friday (10/09/2010).
Jones, leader of a small church in Florida which has 50 members, said he canceled the action that will be conducted on September 11.
"The priest has agreed to remove the mosque. We have also agreed to cancel our show. On Saturday I will fly and meet him," explained Jones.
Jones was accompanied by Mohammed Musri who was a leader of the Muslim community in Florida. Musri said he had talked with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, to fly to New York and discussed the possibility to move the location of the mosque.
But promoters of Muslim development in New York denied there was an agreement with Pastor Jones to move the mosque from Ground Zero.
"We do not know anything about it," said one of the initiators and the wife of the Imam Mosque, Daisy Khan, when contacted AFP separately.
